The purpose of the OGA’s General Design Standard is to formalise a set of objective, minimum provisions for design quality to use in the delivery of all public works.

This Certifier Practice Standard is prepared by the Commissioner for Fair Trading under section 14 of the Building and Development Certifiers Act 2018 (B&DC Act); Section 14 provides that a registered certifier’s conditions of registration may require the certifier to carry out certification work in accordance with specified standards or methodologies prepared by the Commissioner.

This information is for general application, for specific instances a Certifier should be consulted.

Provides guidance to inspecting persons (e.g. building certifiers and competent persons) and builders about how to meet their inspection responsibilities under the Building Act 1975 (BA) and the Building Regulation 2021 (BR).

Specifies requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of fire hydrants.

This Guide is intended to supplement to the "Criteria for the Passive House, EnerPHit and PHI Low Energy Building Standards" ("Criteria") published by the Passive House Institute and posted online; it explains the Criteria's requirements given here in a brief and precise manner.

These requirements are additional to the NATSPEC Simple Domestic specification requirements and if differences in interpretation between the two should arise then these requirements take precedence.

This Standard specifies requirements for the design, installation, commissioning and testing of fire hydrant installations. It applies to on-site fire hydrant installations, that is, fire hydrant installations used to protect buildings, structures, storage yards, marinas and associated moored vessels, wharves and plant.

All proposals shall comply with this Minimum Design and Construction Specification (MDCS) together with any additional requirements issued by the Principal with the tender call and any encumbrances, building envelopes, Building Guidelines and Council requirements to which the proposed land is subject.
