Applies to heating, cooling and air conditioning systems installed in all Class 1a, 1b, 2, 3 and 4 buildings as defined in the Building Code of Australia; classifications include single dwellings and multi-storey residential buildings; this is for all work associated with the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of all heating, cooling and air conditioning plant and systems associated with the above residential buildings.

Specifies minimum requirements for the materials, design, fabrication, testing, inspection, reports and pre-commissioning of piping subject to internal or external pressure.

Specifies requirements relating to the optimum thermal resistance of insulation for rigid and flexible ductwork and associated fittings used in heating, airconditioning and evaporative cooling systems of buildings and dwellings.

Specifies the requirements for the construction and performance of alarm valves (wet), for use in fire sprinkler systems.

Sets out requirements for low-pressure flexible hose assemblies for use with medical gases; design, performance, identification and testing of low pressure flexible connecting assemblies used for conveying the medical gases at positive pressures up to 1400 kPa, and negative pressures not exceeding -95 kPa, are specified; flexible hoses used in fixed secondary equipment are not dealt with in this Standard; does not apply to manufacturer specific hoses provided by manufacturers of surgical tools as an integral part for use in the sterile operating area.

Specifies the construction, performance and testing requirements for pressure-reducing valves used in automatic fire sprinkler systems.

Specifies requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of wall wetting sprinkler systems where the exposure protection requirements of AS 2118.1 do not apply; intended to provide automatic external and/or internal protection to the unprotected infills of a building.

Provides specific guidance to architects, planners, designers, engineers, builders, installers, maintenance personnel, building owners, managers and users in the planning and installation of physical pathways and spaces in and between buildings to accommodate the equipment and cabling infrastructure necessary for communications; to the extent that this is not adequately covered for Australian and New Zealand purposes in AS/NZSISO/IEC 14763.2:2014.
