AS 1668

This series groups together the current parts to Australian Standard, AS 1668 The use of ventilation and air conditioning in buildings, available in the BIG library.

The AS 1668 series is a set of Australian standards that focuses on the design, installation, and operation of ventilation and air-conditioning systems in buildings, with a particular emphasis on fire and smoke control. These standards provide guidelines for ensuring that ventilation systems effectively manage air quality, control the spread of smoke during a fire, and maintain safe environments within buildings. The AS 1668 series is essential for engineers, architects, and building designers to ensure that HVAC systems not only provide comfort but also contribute to the safety and health of occupants, particularly in emergency situations.

Current Standards

Sets out the requirements for the design of natural ventilation systems.
Provides users with minimum design parameters and guidelines for determining ventilation rates for general application in buildings
Sets out minimum requirements for the design, construction, installation and commissioning of mechanical smoke control systems in buildings; specific methods of smoke control are defined and the appropriate requirements specified for each.
