Specifies requirements for safety and environmental aspects in relation to operation, maintenance and repair of refrigerating systems and the recovery, reuse and disposal of all types of refrigerant, refrigerant oil, heat transfer fluid, refrigerating system and part thereof.

Specifies minimum requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of air-handling and water systems of buildings for the purposes of microbial control. It does not include requirements for refrigerated room airconditioners and non-ducted split systems.

Specifies the requirements for design, selection, installation, commissioning and maintenance of residential heating and cooling climate control systems.

AS/NZS 5601.1:2022 is amended as follows.
